So I have been taking it easy this summer. Which means time indoors. Which means... projects. Honestly not as many as I would have hoped. I find myself extra sleepy :) So here are a few things I have done while the boys sweat it out at the park.

Magnetic chalk board. J did the molding. Fruits of the spirit on on it. One is missing.. good game.

Before..Great Grandpa Jensens rocking chair.
After. Huh...pretty good.

Having fun making all sorts of flowers, posies, yo-yo's.

James finished painting!!

The living room is ready, finally!!

And look at this pile. Look at that fabric. J bought me this book. I can't wait to get started!!

Have you seen a more adorable baby? I love this picture of Logan Jensen. Uncle Brian and Aunt Kelly's  new baby boy.

This is Matt waiting for his buddy Ethan to show up. He pulled out his chair and sat in the driveway. I think this is awesome.

So this summer our victory garden was planted. Victory over what? We don't know for sure... maybe sprouts? Maybe the 200$ garden patch you have to rent in our community. We will just have to wait to see who is actually victorious.

I'm really excited about the pumpkin patch. This is the initial set up. Many little hands helped with the process. Wish us luck!

Before.
First work crew. Tony and Matt.

Notice who is working now....

Next day... second shift crew. Ben, Sam, Dan, Matt.

Almost done. Creating the shade.

Of course I couldn't help myself. Lessons everywhere.

Our pumpkin patch! What is your guess of how many pumpkins we will have? Matt thinks 7.

Einstein was in and out all day. Very confused.

The finished product. The coffelt Victory Garden.

Its so hot outside I think we could boil an egg. Really? Lets try. So we did.
Caitlin and I were interested. Matt stayed cool with his drink and shades.

The dog days of summer. I think einstein wishes she could play a round.
The i-pad. A boy's dream.
Forts galore. This one lasted a few days, and a sleep over. Do I have to wash all those blankets?

This is the first room you see when you walk into our home. I just need to put up the valence and then I think I'm done. Its a strange space if you ask me. I vision a piano there some day. But currently its an office/sitting room.
Looking at these pictures now.. I think it still is a little boring. It needs something. We shall see. The mirror looks too small in this picture. Again... need to skew the angle a little better.

In our home I have chosen incredibly safe colors to paint the common areas. Its actually wonderful, all matches, flows, standard brown/grey. There are hints of a warm blue here and there. It has turned out nice. Very safe. Those pictures to come later.
But it was time to create a space where I can create. I'm not an artist, but I love to spend my free time sewing, making cards, drawing, crafting of any kind really. Always with talk radio in the background.  I find that I need that outlet. I love the colors in fabrics and could stare at them all day. I could honestly stare at a group of freshly sharpened colored pencils or rows of thread all day. I love color.
So here is the beginning stages of  'vieve's room'. Still much to be done.. but this is the starting point.

Let me begin with the piece we found on craigslist. Thank you J for striping, sanding and painting this old hutch for me.
Green chair pad must go. I know. But the hanging light is an old plastic chandelier I found in my parents attic. Spray painted. I would love to dress it up more, perhaps later. Paint is two cans of 5$ paint from home depot. There was not a choice really. It had to work.
Outside my window is the front street. But there is a huge honeysuckle tree which is covered with yellow flowers. Which was the inspiration for the yellow paint.
There she is. Project runaway. That table expands out for the perfect sewing table. The ball is not cute, but practical for sitting on.
Kids corner. Mostly my sweet neighbor Ava uses this corner. Complete with plastic carpet protector for any messes.
This picture really doesn't do this justice. I should have used a better skewed angle. But the idea binders are filled with project ideas. And the fabric is waiting to we used.
This holds my great collection of sewing and project books thanks to wonderful friends. And the top shelf is dedicated to the treasures I receive from Matthew.  Grandma Rachels picture is on top.
I wish I could spray paint that project table white. Or maybe get a dark brown hutch. I don't know. Still have to squeeze in a spare bed for this room as it will also double as our guest room. Hummm.

Here is an updated photo of the backyard. A work in progress. I can't believe how my flowers are actually growing. Keeping in mind the 110 degree weather. I can see those cana's from my kitchen and I love looking out the window.
